Blenheim Rubbish & Recycling

Bin collection days for every Blenheim suburb, what goes in each bin, and where to drop off everything else.

Blenheim has a red bin for rubbish and food scraps, and a yellow bin and maroon crate for recycling, with rubbish and recycling taking turns each week. Here is how to find your collection day, what goes in each bin, and where to take everything else.

Have your bins out by 7am on collection day. A few streets differ from the rest of their suburb, so check your exact address with the council’s lookup.

Good to know

Where do food scraps go?

In the red bin. There is no separate food scraps bin.

Is there a garden bin?

No, and garden waste can't go in the red bin. Compost at home or take it to the Blenheim greenwaste facility.

My bin wasn't emptied. What now?

Leave it out until 5pm. If it still hasn't been emptied, contact the council on 03 520 7400. The Antenno app has kerbside collection alerts.

Can I put out council rubbish bags?

No. Council rubbish bags are no longer collected at the kerb.
