What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from September 2025. ERO found clear gains since the previous review in how evenly students achieve, especially Māori and Pacific students, and regular attendance has kept improving.

A large majority of students meet or exceed curriculum expectations in reading and a small majority in writing and maths, with results not yet even across groups. Teaching is of good quality, learners with complex needs are well supported, and ERO noted a collaborative staff culture, inclusive classrooms and growing partnerships with whānau, hapū, iwi and the Pacific community.

The school’s priorities are to strengthen structured teaching in maths and literacy to lift results and close gaps between groups, review and widen its work on regular attendance, and make better use of evaluation to find what needs improving.

Enrolling

Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol at any time, and the school asks for proof of address such as a tenancy agreement or rates notice.

Out-of-zone places are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme, by ballot when there are more applicants than places, with priority to siblings of current and former students and children of board employees. The school says it gives notice of any ballot date in a newspaper.

Enrolments are usually handled by the principal, with forms from the school office, and new entrants are encouraged to make three visits before they start.
