What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Evaluation Report from December 2024. ERO found that almost all students are working at or above the expected curriculum level in reading, writing and maths, and that most are engaged and making good progress.

Since the previous review, writing results across the school have lifted markedly, and Māori students have made the biggest gains, now achieving at similar levels to their peers in reading and maths.

ERO also noted collaborative leadership, good use of achievement information, strong links with whānau and local agencies, and good support for students with additional needs. A large majority of students attend regularly, but the school is not yet meeting the Ministry’s attendance target.

The agreed next steps are to work with students, parents and whānau on ways to lift regular attendance, and to strengthen literacy and numeracy teaching, with a focus on Māori students’ writing and boys’ maths.
