Stand-downs and suspensions
Cases per 1,000 students in 2025, adjusted for the ages of the school’s students, compared with all New Zealand schools.
Suspensions: fewer than 5 cases in 2025, so no rate is shown.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from April 2025. ERO found that success and progress are rising and that high quality teaching is improving results in reading, writing and maths, with a large majority of students at or above the expected level in each.
Results are not yet equitable across all groups of students, though, and the school is behind the government’s regular attendance target, with chronic absence not yet falling.
Students have a strong sense of belonging and are confident in their cultural identities, students with complex needs are well supported, leadership is focused on improvement, and structured literacy and maths programmes are being brought in.
The agreed next steps are to make better use of assessment information to shape teaching and to find and speed up the progress of students who need it, and to set out a step-by-step attendance strategy with specific actions that are checked regularly for results.
